diesel generator set encounters a malfunction, the emergency stop button should be pressed to achieve a forced shutdown. In emergency situations, pressing the red emergency stop button directly can achieve a forced shutdown. It should be noted that after pressing the emergency stop button, it needs to be reset, otherwise the generator will not be able to start again.
In emergency shutdown operations, the first step is to observe the indicator lights and alarm information on the dashboard to determine the type of fault. If sudden drops in oil pressure, high water temperature, overspeed or other abnormal conditions are found, the emergency stop button should be immediately pressed to cut off power and fuel supply, ensuring that the generator set stops running quickly.
In addition, there are some precautions to keep in mind:
Avoid shutdown with load: The load must be unloaded before shutdown, and shutdown with load is strictly prohibited.
Environmental temperature considerations: In low-temperature environments, the accumulated water in the cooling system should be drained after shutdown to prevent freezing.
Regular maintenance: To ensure stable performance, it is recommended to conduct a monthly no-load test run and promptly inspect and maintain the generator set.
